Sushma Swaraj Bio
Sushma Swaraj was a well-known Indian politician who also served as a supreme court lawyer. In October 1998 she became the first woman chief minister of Delhi. She was nominated as a member of Parliament seven times and a member of the legislative assembly three times. In 1977, at the early age of 25 years, she became the youngest cabinet minister of Haryana. She has served at several posts as A senior leader of Bharatiya Janata Party, Member of the lower house of Parliament ( Lok sabha), fifth Chief Minister of Delhi, Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Minister of Overseas Indian affairs and 29th minister of external affairs. In 2020 she was awarded the Padma Bhushan Award.

Early life and Education
Sushma Swaraj was born as Sushma Sharma on 14 February 1952 in Ambala Cantonment, Punjab India is currently known as Haryana. She was born into a Punjabi Brahmin family. She is the daughter of Hardev Sharma and Shrimati Lakshmi Devi. Her father was a former member of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. Her family belongs to the Dharampura area of Lahore Pakistan. She acquired a bachelor’s degree with majors in Sanskrit and Political Science from the Sanatan Dharma College in Ambala Cantonment. Further, she earned a law degree at Punjab University, Chandigarh.
Political Career
In 1977, she was elected as a Member of the Haryana Legislative Assembly and served there till 1982. From 1977 to 1979, she served as a Cabinet Minister for Labour and Employment in Haryana. After that from 1987 to 1990, she was elected as a member of the Haryana Legislative Assembly. Sofrom 1987 to 1990, she served as a Cabinet Minister for Education, Food, and Civil supplies. Then from 1991 to 1996, she became a member of the Rajya Sabha. In 1996, she also served as Union Cabinet Minister for Information and Broadcasting. Then From 2000 to 2006 and from 2006 to 2009, she was again elected as a member of the Rajya Sabha. Then from 2009 to 2014, she became a member of the 15th Lok Sabha. Later from 2000, she served as a deputy leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha and after that, she became leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha. From 2014 to 2019, she served as Minister of External Affairs in the Union of India.
Moreover, on 13 October 1988, she became the fifth chief minister of Delhi and was the first female Chief Minister of Delhi and she served that position till 3 December 1998.
Personal life
On 13 July 1975, Sushma Sharma got married to Swaraj Kaushal during the time of the emergency. Swaraj Kaushal was her associate and fellow advocate at the supreme court of India. Swaraj Kaushal also served at various positions such as a senior advocate of the Supreme Court and a criminal lawyer, Governor of Mizoram, and a Member of Parliament. Sushma and Swaraj Kaushal have a daughter named Bansuri.
Death
On 6 August 2019, she suffered a heart attack in the evening and she was rushed to AIIMS Hospital in New Delhi where she later died due to cardiac arrest.
